Breakfast for Israel a huge success
Elie Katz of Teaneck and his sister-in-law, Jessica Katz of Passaic, hosted the first annual Breakfast for Israel at the Jewish Center of Teaneck on June 25. So far, the pair has raised more than $20,000 for Yad Leah and Magen David Adom, which are among the organizations that were represented at the breakfast. Children from the Frisch School, the Moriah School, Yeshivat He’Atid, Yeshivat Noam, and Yavneh Academy who participated in fundraising and volunteer events for both organizations were honored. Assemblyman Gary Schaer, Teaneck’s Mayor Mohammed Hameeduddin, and Councilman Mark Schwartz presented school awards. Guest speakers included Ambassador Dani Dayan, who is the consul general of Israel in New York, and N.J. Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno. The business award was given to the IDT Corporation and its CEO, Shmuel Jonas, who also spoke.
