The Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael’s men’s club collected 38 pints of blood during its annual drive on Sunday, January 17. This topped its usual draw of about 28 pints. The annual blood drive is in memory of Deborah Amy Segal, who was an active teen at the Jewish Center. At 17, she became president of its USY chapter; she died in a car accident in 1989. Her parents are Leon and Patricia Segal.
Lou Bodian, shown here, chairs the shul’s social action committee. The drive is run by Doug Goldstein, the MJCBY Men’s Club president, in collaboration with the New Jersey Blood Center. The blood the synagogue collected will save more than 100 lives.
