Bear Mitzvah at Jewish Museum
Charlemagne Palestine’s “Bear Mitzvah in Meshugahland” features hundreds of plush toys, including teddy bears, which the artist regards as shamanic representations of the soul. The display of visual art by artist/musician/composer/ performer Charlemagne Palestine is influenced by the artist’s childhood experience and Brooklyn Jewish roots. It is on display through August 6 at the Jewish Museum in Manhattan, 1109 Fifth Avenue at 92nd Street. Call (212) 423-3337 or go to theJewishMuseum.org.
