Author to talk on “Balm in Gilead”
Author and former U.S. Ambassador John L. Withers II speaks about his book “Balm in Gilead: A Story from the War,” for the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey’s Jewish Community Relations Committee on Wednesday, August 4, at 7 p.m. The books describes how, years after John L. Withers’ all-black U.S. Army unit sheltered two Jewish boys from Dachau, his son, John L. Withers II, searches for the backstory.
