Picking apples, drinking cider, and collecting leaves and pine cones all are part of the fall experience. Expanding on that, students in the Early School of Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston explored how apples grow, how they are harvested, and how they eventually become fall treats. The school director, Debbie Aronson Ziering, created Debbie’s Apple Orchard, with trees laden with handmade paper apples of every color and variety. The students could “pick” apples directly from the trees. They also had real apples, donated by Shop Rite of Livingston, to take home as a fall snack.
