American Jewish history as reflected in synagogues
Eitan Kastner gives an audiovisual presentation, “American Jewish History in Eight Synagogues,” for Temple Emeth in Teaneck’s B’Yachad program on Sunday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m.
Through slides and stories, Mr. Kastner will talk about eight significant congregations and their buildings, which reflect both American and American Jewish history. The story begins with the historic 1763 Touro Synagogue in Rhode Island, the oldest American synagogue building still standing.
The program is in honor of our nation’s birthday. It costs $8 per person for the talk and the breakfast; reservations are necessary by July 1. Reservations are not necessary for just the lecture. For reservations email Byachad@emeth.org or call (201) 833-1322.
