‘Way below the belt’

Your ferocious lead editorial blasting Sarah Palin did a great disservice not only to her but to your readers as well, one for which you’ll have to “klap” an “Al Chet” for the sins against your readers that you write about every Yom Kippur eve.

Not only did you pounce on her – you declared an end to all conversation. Nothing to talk about, no discussion pro or con. You declared her a total non-sequitur. What newspaper does that? Even the very liberal Bergen Record allows that her nomination is historic, intriguing and engaging. Your bold-stroke whitewash against the governor was hitting way below the belt, and unfortunately leaves me with no desire whatsoever to follow election coverage through your eyes.

Be careful what you wish for, indeed; you lost a wonderful opportunity to engage your readers.
