‘The true heroes’
Thank you for publishing the Aug. 5 article and editorial about my efforts in the NYC Triathlon to raise money for One Family Fund. The articles were spot on (although I do not think I am a hero). Reading them gave me the chills by reminding me how we have to enjoy every moment of life because we never know how one event can impact our lives forever.
I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the staff and volunteers at One Family Fund who worked endless hours to plan, coordinate, and execute the flawless Team One Family training program and events. The team finished the grueling NYC Triathlon and all the team members should be proud of their efforts.
The Team One Family triathletes helped raise over $250,000 for One Family Fund, which will go towards providing support and services such as summer camps, big brother/big sister programs for bereaved siblings and orphans, widows and widowers retreats, and bereaved parents retreats. Thank you to all who sponsored me and the other athletes. These programs are for the true heroes of the Jewish people, individuals whose lives have been forever changed by horrific acts of terror.
