To honor Black History Month, the JCC of Central New Jersey in Scotch Plains streams “Shared Legacies: The African-American Jewish Civil Rights Alliance,” through February 8, as part of a series focusing on the Black-Jewish partnership for social justice. The film explores the story of the coalition and friendship between the Jewish and African-American communities during the civil rights movement and the efforts underway now to invigorate this vital relationship. As follow-up, there will an interactive Zoom conversation with Rabbi Joel Abraham of Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains and Leland McGee of Social Justice Matters on February 10 at 7:30 p.m. For link: (908) 889-8800, ext. 253, or jccnj.org.
