Areyvut will host two community hands-on chesed fairs on Sunday, April 15, in conjunction with National Mitzvah and Good Deeds days.

There will be a program at Young Israel of Teaneck, at 868 Perry Lane, from 9 to 11 a.m.; there will be another at the Fair Lawn Jewish Center/CBI, 10-10 Norma Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m. Both are aimed at participants of all ages. The projects, to benefit communal agencies, include assembling snack packages for a food pantry, writing notes of support to U.S. troops abroad, repurposing tee-shirts to make bags, and creating art projects.

The events are free and the first 100 attendees at each program will receive a National Mitzvah Day shirt.
