Her only regret, she says, is that he didn't take her with her on the attack. Hopes her other kids will follow suit.

Muhammad Shamasne boarded bus 185 near the entrance to Jerusalem on October 12 and stabbed a 19-year-old soldier, trying to grab his gun before he was neutralized by police.

His mother was interviewed by Palestinian TV. “We regret nothing – we are proud of him!” Ms. Shamasne declared.

Asked whether she is worried about Israel destroying her hope, she said: “The home will be a sacrifice for the sake of Al-Aqsa. I’ll sacrifice my four children for the sake of Al-Aqsa, and I will be the first to sacrifice myself for the sake of Al-Aqsa,” she said.

Pulling a knife out from under her clothes, the matriarch drew her first criticism from the interviewer, who said she couldn’t indulge this “spectacle” on live TV.

The interview ends with the bereaved mother declaring, chillingly: “There’s no need for me to say any more. My deeds will speak louder than words.”

The interview was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute.
