WATCH: Not everything is from Allah

Israeli hip-hop wordsmith's call to action: "If we don't accept each other, even the One Above won't save us from ourselves."

Erez (“E-Z”) Sharon rose to prominence in Israel freestyling at local clubs and eventually became on of Israel’s most popular rappers via Facebook and YouTube exposure.

His tracks are filled with clever lyrics, societal critique and sometimes simple trolling of his audience and critics alike. We approached E-Z with the request to add English subtitles to the track so all our readers could enjoy it.

The song “Not Everything is From Allah/God” was performed together with other Jewish and Arab musicians for Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin:

Lyrics:

After all we’re all human
Our time on this earth is temporary.
If I won’t try to find out who u r, How would I know who I am?

So many lies that I went on to find the truth for myself.
And He is watching over me, yeah He does,
But He leaves the choice in my hands.

Not all is from Allah, (God)
If we don’t accept each other, even the one sitting above will not save us from ourselves.
Not all is from Allah, (God) If we don’t accept each other, even the one sitting above will not save us from ourselves.

How much longer we’ll put labels,
Give in to the darkness of old prejudices,
I & I – ingathering the exiles, or a jungle exploding with snakes and lions I live between those who lost their hopes and those who lost their minds I wish we found some compassion for those who suffer and are uncomfortable to demand,

Not all is from Allah, (God)
If we don’t accept each other, even the one sitting above will not save us from ourselves.

Not all is from Allah, (God) If we don’t accept each other, even the one sitting above will not save us from ourselves
