War drive?
I believe your Feb. 10 coverage of the Iranian nuclear threat overly stresses the need for an armed response. In addition to the increasing evidence that sanctions are hitting Iran hard, there are many who doubt that an Israeli strike is advisable or even practical. Former Mossad chief Meir Dagan called it “the stupidest thing I have ever heard.” We should not encourage an Israeli strike that could lead to regional war. Iran, while ruled by fanatics since 1979, has always had a bigger bark than bite, and has done the most violence to its own people. I hope that The Jewish Standard, having lent its voice to the rush for war, will give greater coverage for the case for sanctions and diplomacy.
