At the Oud festival in Jerusalem, an international Oud quartet performed their incredible music. The quartet is made up of members from Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Italy, France, and Germany. The leader, Mohamed Ahaddaf hails from Morocco, but is living in Amsterdam.
What is an oud? It is similar to a guitar. It has eleven strings. It is pear shaped. The Oud was used historically though out the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Mohamed was delighted to play in Jerusalem for the first time. His audience was excited to participate with him during the show.
