Shabbat hours at Y

Many years ago, there indeed were discussions about the possible opening of the YJCC facilities during Shabbat (“YJCC to open on Shabbat,” June 8). I did insist that swimming arguably is permissible on the day of rest. However, my position always was that the Y should be closed during Shabbat mornings or at any time that synagogue services are held.
