Legendary Israeli singer performs Slichot in Hebron
Sarit Hadad, one of Israel's most famous singers, performed last night opposite the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the shared Israeli-Palestinian city.
Sarit Hadad doesn’t go to Hebron every day.
This video was posted by Minister Naftali Bennet and features Haddad singing spiritual music from the pre-Yom Kippur Slichot prayers.
Hebron was one of the first cities handed over to Palestinian Authority control, aside from the area surrounding the Tomb of the Patriarchs, which is home to a Jewish settlement. The tomb itself is divided, with half serving as a mosque and half a synagogue.
Jews and Muslims both rever the patriarch Abraham and agree that he is their shared ancestor.
