Iran’s Supreme Leader: Nothing Has Changed

Says Islamic Republic will continue to stand firm against "arrogant" United States.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that the nuclear deal agreed to does not signal any shift in policy in the region, including support of regional allies and groups – which would include Hamas, Syria’s Bashar al-Assad and the Hizbullah terrorist group.

“We have repeatedly said we don’t negotiate with the U.S. on regional or international affairs – not even on bilateral issues. There are some exceptions like the nuclear program that we negotiated with the Americans to serve our interests.”

Khamenei went on to say that US policies in the region were “180 degrees opposite” those of Iran. He gave the address at a Mosque in Tehran to the sounds of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” chants.

“We will never stop supporting our friends in the region and the people of Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain and Lebanon. Even after this deal our policy towards the arrogant U.S. will not change,” he promised.
