As reported today, environmental leaders and New Jersey politicians are opposed to President Obama’s plan to drill for oil off the Atlantic coastline.
Obama has spoken of the benefits to the offshore exploration, while New Jerseyans worry about the effects such an operation would have on the Jersey Shore.
A press release from American for Tax Reform sent to us yesterday outlined benefits that 24 states can reap from offshore drilling. According to ATR, New Jersey stands to gain 5,098 jobs over seven years and boost its Gross State Product by more than $2 billion. What do you think? Do the benefits outweigh the risks? Or should the U.S. focus its resources elsewhere?
