The Academies at Gerrard Berman Day School in Oakland is hosting the “Welcome Summer” dinner on Wednesday, June 21, honoring Drs. Sarah and Barry Blecherman. In addition, teachers who have reached milestone employment anniversaries will be celebrated, and an ad journal will be created in their honor.
The Blechermans, parents of four past and present students at the school, have volunteered their time and efforts over the years to ensure that students and staff are well versed in educational experiences, social encounters, and health maintenance.
Barry Blecherman is a professor at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering. He has been on the school’s board and served as its president. He was instrumental in leading the school during a time of financial difficulties. Sarah Blecherman is affiliated with Advocare Pediatric Arts of Northern New Jersey. At GBDS, she reviews nursing policies and responds to inquiries from the parents and staff regarding medical issues.
The dinner is at Shomrei Torah in Wayne, where Barry is executive vice president. For information, call (201) 337-1111.
