JCRC-NY’s Celebrate Israel Parade marks Israel’s 75th anniversary

The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York’s Celebrate Israel parade will be on Sunday, June 4. The parade, this year called “Renewing the Hope,” will mark Israel’s 75th anniversary. It will run from 57th to 74th streets along Manhattan’s iconic Fifth Avenue.

“We are excited to host JCRC-NY’s Celebrate Israel Parade once again, bringing together New York’s wonderfully diverse Jewish community to celebrate the creation of Israel as it enters its 75th year,” Gideon Taylor, JCRC-NY’s executive vice president and CEO, said. “We are mindful that many people in our community are concerned about ongoing developments in Israel. We believe that the parade is a unique opportunity for our community to come together on Fifth Avenue and to remind the world and each other of everything that makes Israel special, unique, and important.”

“In these moments when so much of our attention is on what divides us, the JCRC-NY Celebrate Israel Parade promises to be a powerful reminder of everything that holds us together as one proud people,” Israel’s president, Isaac Herzog, said. “Let us take this opportunity to walk together in solidarity and to remind ourselves of the power of our unity and togetherness of the spirit of peace and fraternity, to build and to renew and to heal.”

This year, for the first time, there will be a block party; it’ll be on 63rd Street and Madison Avenue and run from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will include kosher food, Israeli crafts, Judaica, and activities for people of all ages.

The parade will be broadcast locally on Fox TV’s My9 network and livestreamed worldwide at celebrateisraelny.org, where you can also find more information.
