Friday night at 9:15 p.m., Dr. Alex Bailey will discuss “After the Honeymoon: Displaying Affection Throughout the Marriage.” The event will take place at the home of Scott and Shira Sheps, 1 Hoitsman Court, Fair Lawn Commons.

Also on Friday night at 9:15 p.m., psychotherapist Lauren Roth will discuss “How to Successfully Parent Children of Any Age.” That talk will be given at the home of Abe and Renee Fishweicher, 8-24 Susan Court.On Saturday morning, immediately following Shabbat services at Fair Lawn’s Congregation Shomrei Torah (19-10 Morlot Avenue), Bailey will address “The Good, the Bad, and the Challenging: How to Communicate Life Events to Our Children,” while Roth, in another room, will present “When and How to Say ‘No’ to Your Child.”

At 5:00 p.m. at the synagogue, Bailey will address “Your Adolescents: Setting Limits and Getting Them to Listen…Effectively,” while Roth talks about “When Other Children Tease Your Child: What Can You Do?”

Afternoon services will begin at 6:35 p.m. following the afternoon presentations. That will be followed by a question and answer session with both Bailey and Roth.

During the Shabbat afternoon presentations, there will be free programming for children ages 18 months to five years old under the direction of Debbie Lesnoy, director of the synagogue’s nursery school.
