In 2009, The Toronto International Film Festival wanted to showcase films from Israel. However, Canadian political activists and some filmmakers there tried to have the movies boycotted.
Canadian comic Mark Breslin was shocked by the anti-Israel movement and perplexed how anyone would want to boycott Israeli films.
