Yvette Tekel

Yvette Tekel, née Gitlow, died May 17.

Born in Brooklyn,
she was a fundraiser
for charities.

She was a board member of Hadassah for 30 years, the first female president of the Women’s Division of UJA/Federation of Northern New Jersey, and was president of the Rockland County Jewish Home for the Aged.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; children, Harvey (Jill) and Tova Szporn; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
