‘The Last Survivors’ will play in Pearl River

Matthew Holtz and his grandmother, Evelyne Appel

To mark Yom HaShoah, Beth Am Temple in Pearl River screens the first installment of “The Last Survivors: Never Again Is Now.” The three-part documentary shows survivors telling their stories as their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other young relatives sit with them. The program is on Sunday, April 12, at 3 p.m., at the shul.

Evelyne Appel, the mother of a Bergen County congregant, is featured in the film with her grandson, Matthew Holtz. She will tell her story that afternoon, and Sid Slotnick, the shul’s president, will talk about his family’s Holocaust experience. Refreshments will be served.

Reservations are required by April 10 at info@bethamtemple.org.
