Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin, a noted writer and author, will visit Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff on Sunday, May 3. At 9:30 a.m., there will be a breakfast buffet, followed by Rabbi Salkin’s talk, about “Why Are We Reading This? Connecting to Jewish Prayers.” His thesis is that prayer is a challenge for many modern Jews; his aim is to explain some of the prayers’ hidden meanings, to act as inspiration.

A Q and A session will follow the talk, and Rabbi Salkin’s book, “Inviting God In,” will be for sale.

The program costs $36 and includes breakfast. Walk-ins are welcome. RSVPs are appreciated; email templeoffice@bethrishon.org, or call (201) 891-4466.
