Jewish Home Foundation’s annual gala celebrates the ‘art of aging’

Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey welcomed hundreds of guests to the Hilton Pearl River for its annual gala, “Every Life Is a Masterpiece,” on October 11. Honorees at the evening of “inspiration, celebration, and community” were Beth and Howard Shiffman, who were recognized for their contributions to the organization.

Through community engagement and fundraising, Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey supports the work of Jewish Home Family, whose mission is to make aging a vital and meaningful experience.

The evening celebrated those who make that mission possible. Artists’ renderings of elders and staff members adorning the walls of the venue represented the stories, personalities, and experiences of the people at the heart of the Jewish Home community.

A highlight of the event was a presentation by Jack York, a pioneer in the senior living industry and founder and president of iN2L and Tailgate for Joy, initiatives that focus on enriching the lives of older adults through storytelling. He spoke about the power of personal storytelling to preserve memories, strengthen connections, and celebrate the lives of elders.

“The theme ‘Every Life Is a Masterpiece’ beautifully captures what this evening was all about,” said Carol Silver Elliott, president and CEO of Jewish Home Family. “Every elder has a unique story, and every individual deserves to be valued, celebrated, and given opportunities to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

“We are grateful to Beth and Howard Shiffman for their contributions and to everyone who joined us in supporting this important mission.”
