Can Kutsher’s, the Catskills’ last kosher resort, be saved?

Roz Green has been going to Kutsher’s for “at least 30 years” – and, says the Cliffside Park resident, she “will be going for yuntif this year too.”

“It’s haimish,” she says. “I like the people who come there.” She’s made many friends at Kutsher’s over the decades, she adds, “and some are still around.”

When Dudu Fisher, the Israeli singer and cantor, led High Holy Day services at Kutsher’s for more than 20 years, “he was a draw,” Green says. “He’s not going to be there but I will go anyway; I feel like it’s my second home.”

She plans to stay for about 10 days, until the day after Yom Kippur.

“I was born on Yom Kippur,” she says, noting that it does not always fall on the same day, “and if my children can make it during the time I am here,” they come to visit with her.
