Art show honors October 7 heroines

Lauri Bader of Englewood, Gayle Grossman-Alweiss of Closter, Barbara Brensilber of Tenafly, and Eileen Stauber of Fort Lee tour the exhibit.

Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey proudly presented “Heroines of October 7,” a powerful art exhibition curated by Israeli artist Yael Nitzan. The exhibit honored the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of Israeli women in the aftermath of October 7.

Over the course of the exhibition, hundreds of community members, students, clergy, civic leaders, and supporters visited it to experience the 60 works of art and reflect on the stories they told.

It highlighted more than four-dozen women, including soldiers, police officers, first responders, and civilians, whose extraordinary bravery and dedication have left a lasting impact.

Presented in the United States for the first time, “Heroines of October 7” created a meaningful space for learning, remembrance, conversation, and solidarity, bringing people together to honor these remarkable women and the enduring strength of the Israeli people.
