Women’s book talk in Tenafly

As a provocative thought-leader in the community and the place for high quality book talks and author meetings, the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades hosts “A Sunday of Strong Women,” focusing on four women authors, on Sunday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The meeting, which includes lunch, will address a diverse range of topics, chosen to appeal to women of all ages. Authors include Lisa Green, “On Your Case, A Comprehensive (and Only Slightly Bossy), Legal Guide for Every Stage of a Woman’s Life;” Chef Rossi, “The Raging Skillet, The True Life Story of Chef Rossi;” Elyssa Friedland, “Love and Miss Communication;” and Geralyn Lucas, “Then Came Life: Living with Courage, Spirit, and Gratitude After Breast Cancer.”

“Women still have work to do when it comes to being empowered in their relationships, in the workplace, and in their own minds,” said Kathy Graff, director of New Initiatives at the JCC. “Our goal in presenting this program is to encourage women to see themselves as intelligent, capable, and successful women –whether they work, whether they are retired, or stay-at-home moms. And our hope is to give them a fun, unique, and dynamic day dedicated to women and presented by women who can mentor and inspire each other. Our plan is to make this an annual event with changing themes, but something that will always be uplifting and inspiring that can brighten a humdrum Sunday in the middle of the winter.”

Women are encouraged to sign up with friends or alone. Call Ms. Graff at (201) 408-1454 or email her at kgraff@jccotp.org.
