Wayne congregations sponsor food drive for the holidays
Shomrei Torah and Temple Beth Tikvah are sponsoring a drive for non-perishable food and basic necessities to mark Rosh Hashanah and to benefit the Wayne Interfaith Network and other local charities that work to alleviate ongoing hunger and need in Wayne Township. They will be joining Conservative and Reform congregations throughout the United States in a national effort to fight hunger.
Donations can be dropped off at either shul during the weekdays leading up to and between the holidays. The Social Action Committee of Temple Beth Tikvah coordinates its High Holiday Project and Shomrei Torah works under the auspices of Operation Isaiah.
All food donations should be non-perishable. Donated items must be regular sizes (not super sizes) and in non-glass containers when possible. Please check expiration dates. Monetary donations are also welcome, payable to the Wayne Interfaith Network, PO Box 3341, Wayne, NJ 07474-3341. For more information about WIN, go to winfoodpantry.org.
