Wayne Area Residents Displaced due to Flooding May Go To the Wayne Y
Wayne, NJ, September 6, 2011 – In response to the extensive damage Hurricane Irene has caused to families in our vicinity, the Wayne Y will open its doors to any area resident, members and non-members, who have been impacted by the severe flooding, and are looking for a place to relax, workout or even just shower.
The Y’s downstairs locker rooms, fitness center, pool, one side of the gymnasium as well as the library, lobby and cafe will be available for individuals and families to take a shower, relax and recreate during this stressful time.
“As the area’s local Y, we felt it would be important to offer our facility to those in need of a place to go so they can recharge and try to relax with their families “, stated Senior Executive Director, David Carcieri, “We understand the hardship and devastation these people are facing and felt that the Y could provide some support.”

Anyone impacted who would like to use the Wayne Y for this purpose should present their photo ID and fill out guest waiver forms for themselves and their families at the Y’s Welcome Desk. He or she will receive a hand stamp for the time they are in the facility.
Open swim times are Monday through Friday, from 2:30-4:30pm and anytime on Saturday and Sunday. The Y is open from 5:30am until 10:00pm Monday through Thursday, 5:30am through 6:30pm on Friday, 7:00am ““ 6:00pm on Saturday and 7:00am-5:00pm on Sunday.
