Teaneck High students to collect Holocaust names and memories

You don’t have to go to Classic Residence to enter information on Holocaust victims. The Yad Vashem website provides copies of forms to be printed out and mailed, as well as the opportunity to enter the information directly online. Robin Granat, executive director of the senior residence, believes it is difficult, both emotionally and technically, for survivors to fill out the forms themselves, but younger relatives and friends will find working through the forms and taking down information relatively simple.
Information about the Yad Vashem project, including links to the testimony forms and the database, is at http://bit.ly/jsvashem.
For survivors who are too frail to attend Sunday’s event, Granat offers to make house calls. “I’m trying to work with people and go to their homes,” she says, “though I want to reserve that to people who really need that.” To take her up on her offer call Susan Kayal, (201) 836-7474.
