Sivan Rahav Meir, a well-known Israeli media personality, spoke to a group of Hillel of Rockland students in the Rockland Community College sukkah on the first night of Chol Hamoed Sukkot. It was co-sponsored by Chabad of Olympia. Rahav Meir and her husband, journalist and radio host Yedidia Meir, are shluchim for the World Mizrachi movement. Rahav Meir, named one of the 50 most influential Jews in the world by the Jerusalem Post, discussed her work as a journalist, issues in Israeli society, and her journey to becoming shomer Shabbat. Sisterhood members of Temple Sinai of Bergen County in Tenafly gathered for Sangrias in The Sukkah; they included shul president Anne-Marie Bennoun; sisterhood president Franci Steinberg; sisterhood vice president of tikkun olam and ritual Annice Benamy; and Rabbi Paula Feldstein, wife of Rabbi Jordan Millstein.
