Stephen Sondheim and Jewish philosophy

Rabbi David Bockman of Fair Lawn’s Temple Beth Sholom recently was the guest speaker at a meeting of the Jersey Hills section of the National Council of Jewish Women. He talked about “Jewish Philosophy in the Musicals of
Stephen Sondheim.”

Rabbi Bockman, who is a musician, earned a master’s degree in Jewish studies and has completed course work toward his Ph.D. in Jewish philosophy.
