Ms. Kaplan established the first — and so far the only — caregiver support center at a premier academic medical center in New York City. She supervises the centers at Montefiore’s Moses and Weiler campuses. Since the center was opened in 2011, Montefiore has served more than 7,000 family caregivers. Before she came to Montefiore, Ms. Kaplan worked at the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services.

JFSNJ’s Wolff Caregiver Support Center, established in 2012 and supervised by Melanie Lester, provides needed services, resources, and support groups for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Through the generosity of the Wolff family, 100 percent of the proceeds from the evening will support the center.

Jewish Family Service of North Jersey, with offices in Wayne and Fair Lawn, is a nonprofit, nonsectarian social service agency that helps members of the community in coping with life’s challenges. For information, call Ms. Lester at (973) 595-0111 or go to www.jfsnorthjersey.org.
