Rockland race in September to honor Holocaust victims
The Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education will host “Run for The Six,” a community run and walk set for Sunday, September 8, at 9:30 a.m., at the Rockland Community College track and field, 145 College Road in Suffern. Registration begins at 9.
The group will walk six laps on the RCC track together. Each lap will be dedicated to the memory of one million of the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The run will with a reception at the new museum, whose mission is to educate the community never to forget the Holocaust. The museum’s leaders invite everyone who is dedicated to undoing hatred and prejudice to be a part of the walk and run to remember.
The day’s proceeds will benefit meaningful social and educational programs for Holocaust survivors and school-aged children. For information, go to holocauststudies.org/runwalk.html.
