The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly’s “Press Play at the J: Fall Expo,” a free community event, allowed people of all ages to explore all that the JCC has to offer. The program, on Sunday, September 11, gave participants a way to start 5783, the Jewish new year, with a bang. The JCC prides itself on offering something for everyone – families, children, teens, adults, and seniors — under one roof.

Family-friendly programming included the instrumental petting zoo, which children could explore music in all forms, sponsored by the Thurnauer School of Music; an interactive bubble show; a magician; a professional DJ, and stations where kids could make their own holiday cards. Adults of all ages enjoyed a book fair and were able to meet JCC staff and ask questions about the programs. There was also a free falafel buffet to eat and enjoy on the terrace and a make-your-own candy apple station.

The JCC also will hold a community open house on Sunday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The JCC hours are 5:30 a.m. to– 9 p.m., Monday to Thursday; and 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Go to its website, www.jccotp.org, for more information, or call the membership team at  (201) 408-1445 to schedule a tour or visit.
