Pennsylvania fails to do the right-to-left thing
Among our many warm wishes for you, our readers, in this new year is that you never fail to bring in a native speaker for guidance when you try your hand at a foreign language social media posting. The state of Pennsylvania meant well but failed to do due diligence; their Hebrew greeting of Shanah Tovah, a wish for a good year, came out left to right.
It literally reads “Habot hanash,” which could, with some creativity, translate to “the human robot.” It’s a weird new year’s wish, but a somewhat apt description of what caused the problem.
