Orthodox Union (New Jersey) Denounces Use Of "Nazi" Rhetoric In New Jersey Politics
Yudin condemns union official's hurtful remarks comparing Hitler to Gov. Christie
HACKENSACK, NJ, June 17, 2011 ““ Bergen County Republican Party Organization Chairman Bob Yudin today responded to yesterday’s inflammatory comments made by Chris Shelton – vice-president of the Communication Workers Association union that represents 175,000 workers.
“The comments made by Chris Shelton, a high ranking officer of the CWA – a union that represents the majority of New Jersey public employees – were extremely offensive and utterly inappropriate in any context.” said Yudin. Shelton addressing a crowd a labor protesters in Trenton told the union members “Welcome to Nazi Germany” and referred to Gov. Christie as “Adolph Christie.”
“Mr. Shelton’s egregious statements trivialize the horror Adolph Hitler and the Nazi’s inflicted on the Jewish people and the rest of Europe. He should be condemned for his words and I believe state Sen. Bob Gordon, Sen. Loretta Weinberg and the rest of the Democratic legislators representing Bergen County should be leading the effort to resoundingly condemn Shelton’s hurtful and inflammatory words.”
