The New Jersey Jewish Business Alliance hosted its eighth annual legislative and business luncheon at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark. A networking session was followed by talks by master of ceremonies Ezra Friedlander; host and board chair Miles Berger; and NJJBA’s founder and executive director. David Rosenberg.
The NJJBA’s goal is to connect and advocate for New Jersey businesses in government, educational, and public institutions. Since it was founded in 2015, NJJBA has worked to ensure that New Jersey is recognized as an exceptional place for Jews to live, work, and visit.
Blenda Pinto, the director of corporate and government affairs for United Airlines’ northeast region, presented the Excellence in Leadership award to Assemblyman Roy Freiman.
The KRE Group, recipient of the Corporate Excellence award, was recognized for enabling Hatzalah’s communication system to run effectively by allowing Hatzalah to place its antenna on one of the tallest towers in Jersey City. Hudson County Commissioner Anthony Romano surprised KRE with the presentation of a proclamation.
Senator Raymond Lesniak presented Ted Zangari, a member of Sills Cummis & Gross and the NJJBA’s general counsel, with the Outstanding Achievement award in recognition of his devotion to the community.
Maksim Sheyn, senior vice president and market manager for Investors Bank and an NJJBA board member, introduced Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ Dist. 9).
Keynote speaker Marlene Cintron, regional administrator at SBA, was introduced by Donald Mindiak, President/CEO of First Commerce Bank.
