Menorah parade planned for four northwest Bergen County towns
On Sunday, December 18, from 3:30 to 7 p.m., about two dozen cars decked out with electric rooftop menorahs and wrapped in Chanukah decorations will take to the road in a traveling “menorahcade.” The procession starts in Glen Rock and goes to Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, and Mahwah town halls for their annual town-wide menorah lightings. The parade and lightings are sponsored by Chabad of NW Bergen County in Franklin Lakes.
The celebrations will include a parachuting dreidel-drop from the local town fire department’s ladder truck, prizes, costumed holiday mascots, traditional hot holiday refreshments served from a kosher food truck free of charge, and the lighting of a 9-foot menorah by local dignitaries.
Scheduled stops are 3:30 p.m. at Kilroy’s Wondermarket in Glen Rock; 4:30 at Wyckoff Town Hall; 5:30 at Franklin Lakes Borough Hall; and 6:30 at Mahwah Township’s municipal building.
