Meet the new editor of About Our Children
Chana Stiefel of Teaneck joins the Jewish Standard as the new editor of About Our Children. She is the author of more than 25 books for children, including the picture books “My Name is Wakawakaloch” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) and “Daddy Depot” (Feiwel & Friends/Macmillan). Her nonfiction titles include “Animal Zombies…and Other Real-Life Monsters,” published by National Geographic Kids. A former editor at Scholastic Inc. and a contributor to Scholastic Teacher magazine, Chana earned a master’s degree in journalism from New York University, with a specialization in science, health, and environmental reporting. She is a former director of public relations at Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls.
As the mom of four kids, all raised in Teaneck, Chana looks forward to bringing a fresh new perspective to About Our Children, while continuing its mission of sharing up-to-date information and parenting advice with the next generation of Jewish families.
