Temple Emanuel of North Jersey in Franklin Lakes hosted its seventh annual President’s Day service, which included the Gettysburg Address, translated into Hebrew and sung to haftarah trope. Area elected officials and government leaders took part in the service. Attendees included state Assemblyman Robert Auth, Councilman Grant Van Eck of Oakland, Mayor Richard Goldberg of Hawthorne, Mayor John Roth of Mahwah, and Mayor Frank Bivona of Franklin Lakes. Mayor Linda Schwager of Oakland, a Temple Emanuel member, chaired the day.
