Judaic studies for people with dementia

Rockland Jewish Family Service presents “Journey Through the Jewish Year: A Program for People with Memory Loss and a Family Caregiver.” It’s a Judaic studies group for people with dementia and their caregivers,  set for Thursdays at 2:30 p.m., at the RJFS office in West Nyack, NY.

It’s a weekly opportunity to come together with people in a similar situation and explore the rhythms of the Jewish calendar through song, tastes, stories, and discussion.

Carol King, LCSW, who facilitates the program, brings many years of experience of explaining holidays and practices with the project, which may connect participants with childhood memories and generally happy times.

There is no charge for this program; donations are welcome. For information go to rjfs.org or call (845) 354-2121
