Jim Tedesco among Bris Avrohom honorees
Bris Avrohom will celebrate its 40th annual dinner and 34th year of gala weddings on Sunday, September 15, at the Sheraton Parsippany. Cocktails are at 4 p.m., the chuppah ceremonies start at 4:30, dinner is at 5:30, and the program is at 6:45. A concert with Avrohom Fried will follow, and so will dessert. A testimonial journal will be printed.
The dinner is dedicated in honor of the grand opening of Bris Avrohom’s Cheder Yaldei Menachem Preschool. Community Service awards will be given to Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III and Olga Krueger, the general manger of the Staten Island Bridges for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The Man of the Year is Maksim Sheyn, senior vice president of Investors Bank.
Honorees include the school’s founders and supporters, the Garber family, Danny and Claire Kahane, Mikhail and Yulia Kipnis, Felix and Lina Kanchik, Charles and Helene Klein, Yuri and Zhanna Libson, and Eduard and Galina Slinin.
Bris Avrohom is an educational and charitable organization founded in 1979 by the Lubavitcher rabbe to assist Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union. It aims to enrich those immigrants’ lives by helping them become part of the larger Jewish community in New Jersey and New York.
