Jason M. Shames of Haworth, the CEO of THE Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, accepted a check for JFNNJ’s Ukraine Relief Fund from Congregation Kol HaNeshamah of Engelwood. Local artist Herb Stern of Englewood, a congregant, exhibited and sold his original work at the Tenafly Library and directed the proceeds to help Ukrainian refugees; as a former refugee himself Mr. Stern believes in paying that forward by helping our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Rabbi Lindsey Healey-Pollack leads the shul and its president, Michael Blady of Tenafly, is Mr. Stern’s son-in-law.
