Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey hosted its annual gala on November 17 at Edgewood Country Club in River Vale. More than 350 members of the community were there to honor JFCS and four of its loyal supporters.
The honorees included JFCS board member Diane Seiden; honorary JFCS board member Jamie Janoff and enthusiastic longtime JFCS volunteer Beth Janoff Chananie of the Jewish Standard; and Chazzan Ilan Mamber z”l, the beloved cantor at Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff. Chazzan Mamber’s wife, Carol, their son, Noah, and their daughter, Aliza, accepted the award on his behalf. Gala co-chair Suzette Diamond, JFCS CEO Susan Greenbaum, and board president Debra Harris were among the speakers. Rabbi Arthur Weiner of the JCC of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah gave the d’var Torah.
