The Corner Market Food Pantry at Jewish Family & Children’s Services held a “Fresh Start” event on MLK Day, January 16, with over 100 of its food pantry clients participating. Everyone got a bag of cleaning supplies to have a ‘fresh start’ to the new year. Volunteers from the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey and the community along with JFCS staff helped with the distribution. It was a tremendous day of public service, and both clients and volunteers were happy to partake.
The program was sponsored by Diamond Chemical Company Inc., a regular donor to JFCS’s food pantry –so pantry clients have access to soap, shampoo, detergent, and other cleaning supplies on a regular basis.
