JCC Rockland announces Jewish Film Festival lineup
JCC Rockland’s 21st annual International Jewish Film Festival aims to use the power of cinema to foster cultural understanding and enrichment, igniting awareness and discussion across communities in Rockland County. The festival’s primary objective is to build bridges between the Jewish community and its neighbors. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the largest, most eagerly anticipated, and highly regarded cultural arts events in the tristate area.
This year’s festival marks its return to an entirely in-person format with 12 exceptional films, each offering a unique storytelling experience. The films will be presented in person at Regal Nanuet from March 21 to April 18.
The festival serves as a platform for the international cinematic exploration and celebration of Jewish and Israeli life, encompassing culture, identity, diversity, complexity, and history. It unites the Rockland community to enjoy award-winning films, provides a distinctive opportunity to address complex issues through a Jewish perspective, and promotes a broader understanding of the world. This year’s film selection includes poignant dramas, insightful documentaries, and lighthearted comedies.
Continuing its tradition, the festival will host filmmakers, actors, writers, and experts in various fields such as law, politics, and culture. These distinguished professionals will contextualize the films in post-screening forums, engaging with the audiences. The Q&A sessions will encourage dialogue and enhance understanding within the community. For the full list of films and to buy tickets, go to jccrockland.eventive.org
