Teen Town Jazz Big Band

The Teen Town Jazz Big Band and Combos from the Thurnauer School of Music at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly will perform in concert at the Englewood Public Library on Sunday, December 15, at 4:30 p.m.

The jazz group, a program for aspiring 13- to 19-year-old jazz musicians, meets on Sunday afternoons. It is co-directed by Debbie Keefe Johns and Steve Johns, who have led the program since it started in 2012. The band performs regularly at the JCC and has played in other venues as well, including Trumpets in Montclair and bergenPAC in Englewood; it has played with guest artists including NEA jazz master trumpeter Jimmy Owens, jazz fusion guitar pioneer Larry Coryell, and former all-star Yankee Bernie Williams on guitar.

The program is free and open to the public. The library is at 31 Engle St. For more information, go to www.englewoodlibrary.org.
